Reflexology
Usually applied to the feet and
or the hands Reflexology stimulates points on the body, feet
and hands called “reflexes” that
correlate to other parts of the body. Practitioners believe
that the entire body is reflected on these particular points.
Most practitioners apply deep pressure to these points.
Reiki
In Reiki the practitioner channels a form of life energy
that is used to help people in healing. Many people receiving
Reiki
feel a tingling, temperature variation or lightening of the
body during a session. A great sense of well-being is felt
afterwards. This experience can be different each time.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
This type of therapy is an effective
treatment to drain the toxins in areas of adema, scar tissue
and post surgery inflammation.
The preferred treatment for primary and secondary lymphedema.
A much needed preventative treatment in cases of lymph node
removal.
Energy Work
This can incorporate various different modalities.
Reiki is one of them. Chakra balancing is another. The chakras
are energy
centers on your physical body. There are several energy centers
on the body but most practitioners refer to the main seven
locations. Color therapy can also be incorporated with this
type of work. This type of work may be a recommended modality
if one feels out of balance but not sure why.
